Welcome to the Nova Scotia Ground Search And Rescue Association Web Site.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Nova Scotia Ground Search And Rescue Association assists GSAR Teams in their efforts to provide a superior and dedicated level of service to the people of Nova Scotia.
GOALS and OBJECTIVES
This list represents the goals and objectives of the Nova Scotia Ground Search And Rescue Association.

Promote the development of ground search and rescue programs that are consistent with our "Mission Statement", constitution/bylaws and volunteer principles. |

2. |
Provide responsible representation for Nova Scotian Ground Search And Rescue Teams at the provincial and federal level. |
|
3. |
Represent the principles of Ground Search And Rescue with other related responding agencies, media and government agencies/departments. |
|
4. |
Develop and maintain a program of minimum recommended training standards. |
|
5. |
Establish and maintain a program to maintain a provincial pool of instructors and training material for all regions of Nova Scotia. |
|
6. |
Establish and maintain a method to evaluate and distribute search management material in Nova Scotia. |
|
7. |
Establish a vehicle for the regular distribution of information to all NSGSARA members (newsletter/bulletin). |
|
8. |
Provide a research, development and assessment capability with regard to relevant aspects of the Ground Search And Rescue program in Nova Scotia. |

9. |
Develop and maintain a program for Preventative SAR. |
|
10. |
Research and promote effective management procedures for managers of N. S. Ground Search Teams. |
|
11. |
Prepare and maintain a working budget that is consistent with the constitution/bylaws, mission statement and goals and objectives of the Association. |

12. |
Develop and maintain an Association WEB Site. |
Who We Are
Our association consists of 24 member teams, which provide the Ground Search And Rescue coverage for the province of Nova Scotia, in Canada.
The Member Teams of Nova Scotia Ground Search And Rescue Association :
are 100 % volunteer,
operate under the authority of the Emergency Measures Organization (N. S.) and
are called out by the EMO or Police Agencies for "Lost Person Incidents" and by Police Agencies for Evidence Searches.
This site contains pages which provides the public with information on our Association, provide you with links to our member teams and allows you to contact us.
